Upon Arriving at the Range
Leave your firearms securely locked in your vehicle and report to the Range Officer who will guide you to sign the range attendance sheet(s) and take your range fees. The Range Officer will instruct you when you may bring firearms from your vehicle to the firing line and will clear (inspect) all firearms before their removal from the firing line.
The Range Officer always wears an identifying badge and usually wears a brightly colored vest.
Use of correct eye protection and hearing protection is compulsory for all people on the firing line. Loan equipment is available from the Range Officer. Fashion sunglasses are not acceptable.
Use of Club Firearms
Those that wish to use the club’s firearms (22LR), a minimum of two weeks notice must be given. This allows the club to organise the equipment including ammunition. Cost is $50 per person.

Another important reminder about safe storage of firearms
When at the range, PLEASE remember to lock your vehicle.
Police have started checking vehicles at SSAA clubs to make sure shooters are not leaving guns in un-locked cars. Police will confiscate all firearms that are not secured properly and there is a risk of losing your license as well as being charged.
Allegedly, recently police found some 27 cars un-locked at one SSAA Victorian club.
Random checks will continue to occur more and more frequently at Sporting Shooting Clubs, so please be sure to lock your guns away when not in use, and store ammunition correctly.
