Exciting News: NSW Police Force Gun Safe Enhancement – Introducing NEW ‘Customer Enquiries’

Dear Clubs,

Next week, we introduce another significant update to the NSW Police Force Gun Safe Portal, which will allow customers with a Gun Safe account the ability to submit enquiries and requests to the Firearms Registry.

This new feature consolidates various processes that customers previously handled through different channels into one single platform. Customers will be able to perform over 25 different enquires and requests, some of these features include:

  • Cancel a Licence or Permit
  • Change an Existing Licence
  • Change of Name
  • Gun Safe Technical Support
  • Notify the Firearms Registry when Moving Interstate
  • Provide Information Regarding a Licence Suspension
  • Request a Replacement Photographic Advice
  • Request an Internal Review
  • Review Special Licence Conditions
  • Submit a B709 Application to Import a Firearm or Weapon
  • Submit a General Licence Enquiry

Existing communication channels, such as email or phone will remain available for those who prefer these options. However, there are many benefits for customers with a Gun Safe account, including faster processing times, SMS notifications for real time updates if a mobile number has been provided to the Firearms Registry and real time access and monitoring of your enquiries and requests.

In addition to offering numerous benefits, the portal provides enhanced overall security, providing users a safe, secure platform for communications.

Guides and Resources

To assist you in navigating these updates seamlessly, easy to follow Quick Reference Guides and instructional videos will be made available on the Firearms Registry website News and Events page.  These guides provide step by step instructions on how to submit a new enquiry and view submitted enquiries.

Stay Informed

We can’t wait to share upcoming enhancements to Gun Safe with you. The Firearms Registry is committed to making Gun Safe processes faster and more efficient with further changes set to be implemented through 2024. Keep an eye on your inbox for the launch of Customer Enquiries and the latest news.

Thank you for your continued partnership.
